Jiggery Pokery Parlour

The Hotrod Hayride

The Hotrod Hayride was a journey into the unknown for the ice cream parlour. For the first time we were immersed in the Rocking world. We were placed right in the middle of the arena of retro stalls and surrounded by the coolest looking crowd we had encountered so far. Billie sorted out our look with hair and make-up and …

Glastonbury Festival 2013

The Parlour crew and the Camp cooks were a match made in Heaven (or somewhere near the gateway) in Shangri la this year. We stayed open 24 hours a day selling cocktails at night and the usual ice cream, waffles and coffee in the day time…..no rest for the wicked!

Camp Bestival 2013

Camp Bestival was great fun , we were neighbours with Wagamama which was a winner for food swaps! The two crews were instantly best mates and spent the rest of the summer hanging out at different events! This was indisputably our best pitch of the year with great music next door ( David Roddigan was one of their celebrity guests …

Bestival was right at the end of the season

Bestival was right at the end of the season ,definitely not for kids (school had already gone back for the summer) and quite a hard gig for the parlour. It was Bens birthday ,our star Barista, and the music line up was great so everyone had a laugh. We were sited, definitely for aesthetic reasons in the magic wishing tree …

Mischief Festival

Mischief was the smallest festival we have done so far and full of surprises! After a few teething problems getting onto site we were shocked to find ourselves next to a booming Gabba sound system, there was no point in turning on our tiny 50s background sounds! The crowd was young and skint but the atmosphere was vibrant and amidst …

Wilderness Festival

We tagged along with House of Fairytales for Wilderness festival, and found ourselves in the kids field for the first time at a festival. The parlour went down a storm and we quickly developed a fan club that came back to eat at least once a day! It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and we actually sold out on the …

Vintage car boot sale on the South Bank

The j5 lorry made a guest appearance at the vintage car boot sale this autumn. It was used as a record stall and looked right at home there. The event was a great success, teaming with the vintage fashionistas of London. Hopefully we’ll be back there in spring 2014 with the parlour.

JIGGERY POKERY PARLOUR!

Anyone who knows the parlour will have noticed the name has changed. The original name, was creating a storm in a tea cup and we d like to keep everything sweet and sunny in ice cream world. So welcome one and all to the Jiggery Pokery Parlour!

A note about the 2013 season

The summer of 2013 was our first full season out on the road and a great test for the parlour and everyone involved. The most important thing, we had a great time and didn’t go bust! We learned a lot about the business, our customers and what needs to be changed (especially the name!) to make things run smoothly. Thanks …
